Basic Stringing (click for large photo)
Create your very own unique and beautiful beaded jewelry. Students will learn to use one of the most simple and straight forward techniques to create individual works of art.
Materials: enough beads to make a 16” necklace, 1 clasp; 2 crimp tubes, 2 feet of Softflex, 2 crimp covers, 2 wire guards

Knotting (click for large photo)
Learn the knotting technique used by professionals. Skills learned in this class can be easily adapted to create illusion-style necklaces. In this class, the design should be kept simple to facilitate learning the technique. Each student will finish a knotted bracelet.
Materials: 1 strand 6-8mm freshwater pearls, 1 clasp; French coil, #2 Silk beading thread on card

Wedding Jewelry Workshop

Learn professional skills and techniques used to create custom wedding jewelry for your big day and for your wedding party. Prerequisite: Wire-wrapping
Materials: 2-3’ of chain, 1 strand of 4mm crystals, 1 strand fire polished beads, 2’ of 22g wire, a dozen 2” head pins, 1 pendant bead (1/2”-1 1/2”)

Organic Memory Mesh Necklace(new class- photo soon)
This design uses a flexible knitted metal mesh tubular ribbon, which can be knotted, stuffed and stitched with beads to create an organic, romantic looking necklace.
Materials: 1 bead mix box, 1 donut bead, 1 length of memory mesh ribbon, 1 pair of cord crimps, 1 roll of Nymo D to match mesh color, a size 10 beading needle

Dewdrop Bracelet (new class- photo soon)
This herringbone stitch rope, alternates glass, or pearl drops and seed beads to create a rich texture, suitable for both bracelets and necklaces.
Prerequisite: Experience with tubular herringbone stitch useful.
Materials: 1 tube of size 11 seed beads, 1 tube of tear drop beads or 1 strand of freshwater pearl drops, 1 tube of triangle beads, Nymo D to match seed bead color, clasp, 2 open jump rings, 2 2x2mm crimp beads, 2 6 to 8mm glass beads, 1’ softflex, 1 size 10 beading needle

These beads use a variation of right angle weave common in Japanese bead work.

Dutch Spiral Pendant (new class- photo soon)
Dutch Spiral stitch is an elegantly twisted variant of peyote stitch with loops of seed beads on one side.
Prerequisite: Experience with tubular peyote stitch essential
Materials: 1 tube of Delicas, 1 tube of size 11 seed beads, 1 tube of triangle beads, 1 tube of size 6 or 8 seed beads, 4 Czech glass beads, 1 head pin, 6” of 22g wire, 1 roll of Nymo D to match main seed bead color, 1 size 10 hard beading needle

Kumihimo
Kumihimo (ku-me-he-mo) is a Japanese form of braid-making that looks like bead crochet. Students will learn how to make a bracelet.
Materials: Kumihimo loom, 8 Kumihimo bobbins, E-6000 glue, big eye needle, 2 10mm end caps, 3 tubes size 6 seed beads, clasp, 2 tubes teardrop beads, waxed linen spool (21 yds) or c-lon spool

Organic Woven Leather Cuff (beginning/intermediate) (click for large photo)
You’ve seen the Chan Luu bracelet everywhere! Don’t pay hundreds of dollars; make your own. This stylish bracelet uses a combination of a cross-weaving bead work technique and soft supple leather cording. Your bracelet can be casual or elegant and dramatic.
Materials: 1 strand of 4-6mm gemstone beads or 2 strands 4mm Czech fire polished glass beads, a button or 1 10-14mm bead, 1 yard of leather cord, 1 spool of size 1 tuff cord, 2 size 10 flexible beading needles

Woven Leather cuff

Handmade Findings
Take your basic wire working skills to a new level. Create custom findings that coordinate with your beadwork. This workshop is an ideal introduction to using metal working techniques: including hammering and stamping.
Pre-requisite: Wire-wrapping
Materials: 1 spool each of 18g, 20g and 24g craft wire, one flat bead approximately 10-14mm, 4 4-6mm beads

Simple technique produces a cuff bracelet with lots of color and movement, without the need for a clasp.
Prerequisite: Ability to turn a simple loop is useful.
Materials: 3 loops of memory wire, 1 tube of seed beads, 1 tube of cube beads, assorted furnace glass, 1 strand 6-8mm Czech glass.
